Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty is a procedure aimed at improving the eye area, correcting the many blemishes that can affect one's eyelids. As the years pass, these tend to "droop" down, narrowing the eye's outline, and surgery might be necessary in order to restore them, and make the whole of the face look younger. Blepharoplasty can also be performed to solve minor congenital issues, such as small eyes, fat deposits under the eye, and many other visual imperfections.

A blepharoplasty can be performed both above and below the eye, according to need.

An upper blepharoplasty aims to redesign the eye's contours, removing excess skin in order to improve its suppleness. The procedure takes about 30 mins, and local anesthesia is administered.

The suture is removed after 4 days, after which make-up might be applied on the area.

BEFORE/AFTER

lower blepharoplasty usually aims at removing eye bags: excess fat is removed through a small incision under the eyelids, and then muscle and tissue are repositioned into a more natural-looking arrangement. Excess wrinkles can also be removed with the use of laser technology, or peeling agents. Regardless of the strategy adopted, surgry and recovery times are always rather short.
